About the role#
Langan is looking for an intern or co-op to join our Site/Civil team in Chicago for the Winter 2027 term. You will support site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design plans. This position provides the opportunity to work directly with industry leaders on land development projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Use maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, and hydrological data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Conduct sidewalk cost estimations and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Provide field inspection services.
- Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on assignments.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position located on-site in Chicago, Illinois.
- Travel may be required based on project needs.
