About the role#
Langan is hiring an Intern or Co-op for our Site/Civil team in Fort Lauderdale. You will support site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design plans for land development projects. This position offers the chance to work directly with industry leadership on technical assignments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Use engineering software and equipment to create design plans.
- Assess site data like soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topography.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Assist with sidewalk cost estimations and determine project feasibility.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and apply engineering mathematics to project tasks.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
- Preference is given to students in their Junior or Senior year or those pursuing an MS degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation for site visits and meetings.

- This is an on-site position based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
- The role is for the Summer 2027 term.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
