About the role#
Langan is hiring an intern for the Landscape Architecture and Planning team in San Jose. This role supports the planning, design, and permitting process for a variety of projects, including urban revitalization, commercial sites, and infrastructure programs. You will work alongside our staff to gain hands-on experience in land development and site design.
What you'll do#
- Assist the team with the planning and design of landscape architecture and civil engineering projects.
- Use design, engineering, and graphic software to prepare project documents.
- Help with zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Analyze collected data to help determine project feasibility.
- Support the preparation and modification of reports, plans, and design documents.
- Assess site conditions including soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data.
- Perform other duties as requested.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Landscape Architecture.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Prior internship experience is desired.
- Strong skills in Adobe Suite, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to travel occasionally to other regional Langan offices.
