About the role#
Langan is hiring an intern for our Land Surveying team in San Antonio. You will work with experienced professionals to collect field data and prepare survey maps and CAD files. This position offers exposure to drone and scanning technologies while working on projects like utility construction, road layouts, and site improvements.
What you'll do#
- Support the survey crew by collecting site and utility information.
- Perform construction layout and field work, including boundary, topographic, utility, and architectural surveys.
- Prepare technical reports, survey plans, and layout plans.
- Assist with office tasks such as CAD drafting, data downloads, deed and map research, and filing.
- Maintain survey equipment and handle repairs when needed.
- Attend internal training and stay current on surveying practices and guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering Technology, Survey, or Civil Engineering.
- Preference for students in their junior or senior year, or those pursuing an MS degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Terramodel, Trimble, Leica, and Topcon Total Stations, Trimble GPS, and TDS is desired.

- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Travel: Some travel may be required based on project assignments and business needs.
