About the role#
Langan is hiring interns for the Summer 2027 term to join our survey teams in Cleveland or Pittsburgh. You will work alongside experienced professionals to collect field data and prepare technical survey documents. This role involves a mix of office tasks and field work on various projects including utility construction, site improvements, and road layouts.
What you'll do#
- Support survey crews by collecting site and utility information.
- Conduct boundary, topographic, utility, and architectural surveys in the field.
- Prepare technical reports, survey plans, and layout plans.
- Perform construction layout tasks.
- Assist with office duties such as CAD drafting, data downloads, deed research, and filing.
- Maintain survey equipment and handle repairs as needed.
- Gain exposure to drone and scanning technologies.
- Attend internal training sessions to build your technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four year degree program for Engineering Technology, Survey, or Civil Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver license in good standing and reliable transportation to reach job sites.
- Familiarity with Terramodel, Trimble, Leica and Topcon Total Stations, Trimble GPS, and TDS is a plus.
