About the role#
Langan is hiring an intern for the Environmental Permitting and Compliance team in Austin for the Summer 2027 term. This position supports multimedia compliance and permitting projects. You will work directly with leadership on technical report writing, regulatory reporting, and permit applications.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of permits and compliance programs for environmental media including air, wastewater, stormwater, and waste.
- Support air quality projects through emissions calculations, regulatory research, and permit preparation.
- Review or learn to conduct multimedia environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, and inspections.
- Help prepare monitoring and spill prevention plans, such as SPCC, SWPPP, and hazardous waste contingency plans.
- Draft technical documents, reports, and permit applications while creating templates for future use.
- Provide field support at client sites, including routine inspections and sample collection.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four year or advanced degree program in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and related software.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Preference is given to students in their junior or senior year or those pursuing a master's degree.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Austin, Texas.
- Travel may be required based on project assignments and business needs.
- This position is paid.
