About the role#
Langan is looking for a Cyber Security Intern or Co-op to join our Information Technology team in Parsippany, New Jersey. You will research new security technologies, document best practices, and gain practical experience with security projects within an engineering consulting firm.
What you'll do#
- Research emerging security trends and new technologies.
- Evaluate current security measures and collaborate with the network team on improvements.
- Implement enterprise-wide security standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Monitor security events and help mitigate active threats.
- Assist with end-user security awareness, training, and testing.
- Identify compliance gaps and help implement appropriate controls.
- Review internal policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Preference for students in their junior or senior year or those pursuing a Master's degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to work at least 25 hours per week during the semester.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Self-motivation, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Active participation on platforms like Tryhackme or Hackthebox is a plus.
- Interest or experience in offensive security.
- Preferred certifications include Blue Team Level 1, eJPT, eCPPT, AZ-900, or AZ-500.
