About the role#
Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op for the Fall 2027 term in Parsippany, New Jersey. This full-time position involves supporting site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and the development of design plans for land development and infrastructure projects. You will work directly with industry leadership to gain hands-on technical and professional experience.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land development projects.
- Utilize reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and geological data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments, assist with cost estimations, and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, and construction schedules.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on project assignments and apply engineering mathematics to design tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Strong attention to detail with analytical and multitasking capabilities.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for job site visits.
