About the role#
Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op for the Fall 2027 term in Parsippany, New Jersey. This full-time, paid position offers the opportunity to support site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design plans while partnering with industry leadership on land development projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and geological data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments, assist with cost estimations, and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents, including specifications, construction schedules, and design plans using AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on various project tasks and assignments.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits, along with a valid driver’s license.
