Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op - Fall 2026

About the role#

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op for the Fall 2027 term in Parsippany, New Jersey. This full-time, paid position offers the opportunity to support site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design plans while partnering with industry leadership on land development projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and geological data.
• Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments, assist with cost estimations, and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents, including specifications, construction schedules, and design plans using AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Collaborate with team members on various project tasks and assignments.

What you'll need#

• Active pursuit of a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
• Reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits, along with a valid driver’s license.
