Civil Engineering Intern / Co-op

About the role#

Langan is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op to join the team in Pittsburgh, PA for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design documentation. You will work directly with industry leadership on land development and infrastructure projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land development projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
• Use maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition and terrain.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Reliable transportation for site visits and a valid driver’s license.
