About the role#
As a Leadership Management Intern at a Kohl's eCommerce Fulfillment Center, you will gain hands-on experience in distribution operations. This internship provides an inside look at high-volume online order fulfillment and the strategies used to manage large-scale logistics.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with distribution center leadership to support daily operations.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Analyze operational data to find opportunities for process improvement.
- Participate in leadership meetings and offer insights on staffing, workflow, and productivity.
- Shadow department managers to learn about workforce planning, inventory control, and safety compliance.
- Support training initiatives and team development efforts.
- Gain experience with warehouse management systems and proprietary logistics tools.
- Operate equipment like handheld scanners and multiple frequency devices.
- Plan, prioritize, and monitor activities across business units.
What you'll need#
- Current status as an undergraduate junior.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from June through August.
- Flexibility in hours to support multi-shift operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently, and over 50 lbs with a two-person lift.
- Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a shift, which is at least 9 hours.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, squatting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
