About the role#
The School Leader Fellow Program is a one or two year residency designed to prepare high-potential Assistant School Leaders to transition into School Leader roles. Fellows develop instructional, people, strategic, and adaptive skills through authentic leadership experiences, coaching, and competency-based assessments. This is a full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a full-time Assistant School Leader at your residency school.
- Contribute to instructional leadership, school culture, strategic priorities, and school operations.
- Engage in ongoing reflection and readiness assessment using an Individual Development Plan.
- Participate in competency-based skill assessments and cohort-based professional learning.
- Present progress toward performance goals at quarterly progression checkpoints.
- Engage in one-on-one coaching and mentorship to refine your leadership practice.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in an instructional school-wide leadership role, including at least 1 full year as an Assistant School Leader.
- 3+ years of teaching experience with demonstrated student performance results.
- Experience working in a school where more than 50% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and anti-racist practices.
- A valid California preliminary or CLEAR teaching credential or equivalent is preferred.
- A valid California preliminary or CLEAR admin credential or equivalent is preferred.
- Evidence of significant and consistent personal and professional achievement within public charter schools is preferred.
