Co-op/ Intern Information Security

About the role#

As an Information Security Intern, you will join the Global Information Security team to support core functions such as security operations, digital forensics, threat intelligence, risk assessments, and security audits. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to daily analysis tasks and wider security projects while building analytical and interpersonal skills.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the security incident response process and analyze suspicious emails.
• Review security logs from various systems to correlate and identify potential incidents or areas of risk.
• Support vulnerability and penetration tests on target systems.
• Identify compromised systems on the network and assist with containment and mitigation.
• Provide guidance on information security risk assessments, cost-benefit analyses, and business impact analyses.
• Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Perform technical risk assessments of new and existing applications and systems.
• Document and update operational security procedures and diagrams.
• Collaborate across the organization to ensure security risks and compliance matters are addressed.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging threats to keep the team informed.
• Promote security awareness and provide training to users.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a program where information security is the primary focus.
• A good understanding of the non-technical aspects of information security.
• A basic understanding of industry standards and best practices related to systems, networks, identity, and security management.
• A good understanding of cloud platforms and services, specifically regarding security.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• A self-starter mindset.

Location & details#

• Term: Fall 2026 (Full-time, 8 or 12-month position starting September 2026).
• Work Modality: Remote (Canada).
• Compensation: $19.46 - $28.55 per hour, based on skills and experience.
• Eligibility: Open to co-ops and interns currently enrolled in full-time education or recent graduates within 12 months of the placement end date.
