Co-op/ Intern Engineer, Data & Analytics

About the role#

As a Data & Analytics Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in data engineering, modeling, and business intelligence. Working alongside experienced team members, you will help transform legacy systems into a modern, cloud-native data stack and develop data products that drive decision-making at Kinaxis.

What you'll do#

• Assist in modernizing data systems using cloud-based tools and apply modern data engineering practices.
• Develop basic data pipelines, integrations, and data validation mechanisms to maintain quality.
• Create simple data models and build visually appealing BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and support small-scale data-driven solutions.
• Participate in team planning, project execution, and troubleshooting while working in an agile environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Exposure to SQL, Python, or data pipeline tools such as Airflow or dbt through coursework or projects.
• A basic understanding of software engineering principles, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with database concepts and data models.
• An interest in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) or configuration-as-code (Ansible) is considered an asset.
• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident to meet CGRP security requirements.

Location & details#

• Location: Hybrid in Ottawa, Ontario.
• Term: Full-time, 8-month position starting in September 2026.
• Compensation: $25.24 – $37.02 per hour, based on skills and education level.
