About the role#
The Real Estate Capital Internship at KeyBank is a 10.5-week program designed to provide hands-on experience within the commercial real estate finance sector. Interns join one of four business segments: Commercial Mortgage Group, Community Development Lending, Income Property Group, or Institutional Capital Group. This role serves as a pipeline for full-time Analyst positions following graduation.
What you'll do#
- Research economic conditions and market trends.
- Build strategic contact databases.
- Conduct neighborhood, industry, and prospective tenant research.
- Perform field research and create marketing materials.
- Complete a Capstone Project based on your internship experience.
- Support the daily goals and objectives of the Real Estate Capital team.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of a four-year undergraduate degree.
- Coursework in finance, real estate, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation in or before May 2028.
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.3.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through extracurricular activities.
- Core skills including critical thinking, financial acumen, and strong communication.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to synthesize information effectively.
- Note: This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

- Term: Summer 2027 (May 26, 2027 to August 6, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment: Full-time, paid position at $23 per hour.
- Additional compensation: $2,000 summer internship sign-on bonus.
