About the role#
The Food & Beverage Internship at the JW Marriott Savannah is a full-time, paid position. You will work on-site to support our dining operations, ensuring guests receive prompt and attentive service. This role is open to individuals seeking hands-on experience in a hospitality environment.
What you'll do#
- Greet and seat guests in a timely manner.
- Assist servers and cashiers with guest service needs.
- Process payments and prepare cashier reports at the end of your shift.
- Pay out tips for servers and service attendants.
- Take reservations for our outlets.
- Maintain cleanliness and quality control for all menus.
- Perform opening and closing duties based on established checklists.
- Follow service standards for room service orders.
- Keep up-to-date on all menu items and current specials.
- Understand and follow state liquor laws.
- Ensure guests have a positive experience throughout their visit.
What you'll need#
- Ability to stand for the duration of your entire shift.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective listening skills to clarify and address guest or employee concerns.
- Ability to show initiative and solve problems as they arise.
- High school diploma or experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Professional appearance and grooming standards.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
