About the role#
Kepler Communications is looking for a Systems Engineering Intern to join the Satellite Systems team. This role supports the architecture, design, verification, and technical coordination activities across active and early-phase satellite programs. You will work on tasks related to mission analysis, technical budget assessments, and systems engineering workflows.
What you'll do#
- Support satellite architecture, design, and analysis activities, including trade studies and technical budget assessments for mass, power, link performance, and reliability.
- Contribute to the development, management, and maintenance of system and subsystem requirements, verification plans, and traceability.
- Use Python or similar scripting tools to support engineering analysis, automate calculations, and improve workflow efficiency.
- Contribute to model development using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to define system architecture and interfaces.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and cross-functional teams to prepare technical outputs, support design reviews, and participate in hardware testing.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, with at least 3 years completed and returning to studies after the internship.
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems, mission analysis, and technical budget generation.
- Experience with technical analysis using Python or similar tools.
- Ability to work independently on defined tasks while coordinating with mentors.
- Available for a full-time, 8, 12, or 16-month internship starting in September 2026.

- Modality: On-site (minimum three days per week).
- Term: Fall 2026 start.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
