About the role#
K2 Integrity is looking for an Information Security Intern to support our forensic investigations team. This part-time role provides hands-on exposure to evidence handling, forensic processes, and security operations. You will assist our senior professionals with client service tasks and internal operations, allowing them to focus on complex investigations and strategic initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Back up client hard drives and electronic devices.
- Manage evidence intake, organization, and filing according to established procedures.
- Keep accurate records for forensic evidence and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Organize and manage case-related files.
- Perform administrative and operational tasks for active client engagements.
- Assist with data collection, inventory tracking, and quality assurance.
- Research topics related to information security, digital forensics, and cyber investigations.
- Handle sensitive information with professionalism and strict confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- You are currently an undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.
- We prefer students pursuing degrees in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Digital Forensics, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- You have a strong interest in digital forensics, cyber investigations, and information security.
- You possess a basic understanding of computer systems, data storage, and cybersecurity concepts.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- You have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
- You can follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records.
- You communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- You can work independently and collaborate well within a team.
- Previous internship or technical coursework is a plus.
