About the role#
JPI offers a structured 180-day transitional training experience for Department of Defense SkillBridge participants. This role provides progressive exposure to safety, construction operations, field coordination, and digital construction tools. Interns will participate in a combination of Academy instruction, Operations Support Center rotations, and active jobsite assignments to develop the technical skills and documentation discipline required for civilian construction employment.
What you'll do#
- Complete onboarding and safety readiness activities, including OSHA 30.
- Shadow Operations Support Center personnel across designated verticals.
- Complete the Academy curriculum covering construction technology and operations.
- Support day-to-day General Contractor oversight activities, including site documentation and quality observations.
- Lead a defined small-scale project component as a capstone project.
- Develop a training module to support future employee development.
What you'll need#
- Active-duty service member approved for the Department of Defense SkillBridge program.
- Interest in construction management or field operations.
- Ability to comply with jobsite safety requirements and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
- Ability to learn and utilize digital construction tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, OpenSpace, and DroneDeploy.
- Ability to perform site documentation tasks.
- Physical ability to work in active construction environments, including walking uneven terrain, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
