About the role#
This is a part-time industrial engineering role based in Waterloo, Iowa. You will join the Drivetrain team and work alongside full-time staff throughout the academic year and the summer. This position requires daily on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage sequence of events documentation and output standards.
- Use output standards to support product costing, capacity planning, and wage performance plans.
- Perform engineering functions using electronic tools, including methods change tracking and reporting.
- Develop plans of limited scope to assist with lean manufacturing goals.
- Participate in the implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited college or university.
- Pursuit of a bachelor degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Ability to work 16-20 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours during the summer.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.
- A graduation date of May 2028 or later.
