Time Studies Intern

About the role#

The Industrial Engineering department at Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC is seeking a part-time intern for our Vehicle Processing Center in Commerce, Georgia. This role supports the team over a term of several months, with hours that can be structured to accommodate your class schedule during core business hours of Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:15 pm.

What you'll do#

• Perform time-and-motion studies to develop labor standards for production activities.
• Participate in process mapping, data collection, Kaizen Events, and Gemba Walks.
• Work with 5S teams to improve workplace organization and reduce waste.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and develop recommendations for various work tasks.
• Adhere to safety and quality policies and support site compliance objectives.
• Assist with various additional projects as assigned by the manager.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program, with preference for freshman, sophomore, and junior students.
• Preferred focus in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Completed coursework or experience related to time-and-motion studies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry and basic macro development.
• Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint for developing and delivering presentations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under time constraints.
