Accounting Intern

About the role#

The Accounting Intern program at JM Family Enterprises offers students hands-on experience within the Finance and Accounting field. This full-time, paid internship allows students to contribute to department initiatives while gaining professional insights through meaningful work, networking, and skill-building opportunities.

What you'll do#

• Assist the Treasury team with Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) offerings, including the review and interpretation of legal documents.
• Participate in due diligence procedures and annual servicing audits with external accountants.
• Maintain and develop accounting and servicing support for ABS transactions, including monitoring pool performance and identifying items for research.
• Prepare monthly servicing reports, journal entries, wire requests, and reconciliations for collections.
• Review monthly Asset Level Disclosure (ALD) files for completeness.
• Analyze general ledger accounts and supporting schedules, performing reconciliations as needed.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Completion of at least one semester of coursework.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and knowledge of Power BI.
• Familiarity with SQL and Python.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
