About the role#
Jaros, Baum & Bolles is hiring mechanical and electrical engineering students for our co-op program in Boston. You will join a project team to gain experience in design engineering across various project types. Throughout your time here, you will receive training through our internal program along with regular coaching and mentoring from your teammates.
What you'll do#
- Use AutoCAD and Revit to design and draw riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans.
- Visit project sites to conduct surveys, punch list walkdowns, and design reviews.
- Assemble documents for issue by following our design guidelines and checklists.
- Work on HVAC system tasks including distribution, recirculation, and exhaust.
- Assist with facility utilities such as chilled water, heating water, plant steam, and condensate.
- Handle distribution of water, gas, and waste systems.
- Lay out sprinkler systems and perform calculations for pipe sizing, design densities, and pump horsepower.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for mechanical engineering.
- Status as a second or third year co-op student.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- Compensation is $20 to $22 per hour.
- The term is rolling.
