About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the intellectual property and expert testimony practice. You will work on matters involving economic damage calculations, asset valuation, and litigation support. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build complex financial models and conduct financial analyses.
- Research specific technologies, industries, and companies.
- Draft reports, client presentations, pitch books, and memoranda.
- Evaluate patent portfolios for salability and assist with intellectual property landscape analysis.
- Identify and engage contacts at target companies.
- Interact directly with clients and management teams.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or computer science.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including a solid understanding of valuation methodologies and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Professionalism, flexibility, and a self-starter mindset.
- Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, M&A, or corporate finance is preferred.
- Ability to work from the Chicago office 2-3 days per week.
- Applicants must possess work authorization that does not require sponsorship.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Modality: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office).
- Pay: $30-$34 per hour.
