About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in both Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Human Resources. You will spend approximately 80% of your time supporting safety and environmental initiatives and 20% on HR projects. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Troy, Ohio, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Conduct and document Confined Space audits.
- Convert audit findings and safety records into electronic formats.
- Complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) audits and digitize the results.
- Design and create AI-generated safety training videos and educational content.
- Update emergency response plans, facility layouts, and evacuation diagrams.
- Analyze near-miss and safety incident data to identify trends and build reporting dashboards.
- Assist with Safety and Environmental compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support HR projects, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and engagement initiatives.
- Partner with HR team members on administrative tasks and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- An interest in workplace safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with data analysis, graphic design, video editing, AI tools, or safety programs is a plus.
