About the role#
The Manufacturing Technician Intern supports the production, assembly, and testing of medical imaging devices and accessories. You will work in a clean and regulated manufacturing environment to ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining efficient workflows and accurate documentation.
What you'll do#
- Assemble and test medical device components and subsystems.
- Operate, calibrate, and set up manufacturing equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality inspections.
- Perform receiving and in-process inspections along with functional testing.
- Document production data in device and lot history records, ensuring compliance with GMP and ISO 13485 standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Identify non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment or product issues.
- Work with engineering teams to implement process improvements and support design transfer.
- Contribute to validation activities for new fixtures, equipment, or processes.
- Manage inventory levels for production tools and materials.
- Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to keep production flowing.
What you'll need#
- An Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field. A Bachelor degree is preferred.
- Up to 2 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly, ideally in electronics, biotech, or medical devices.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with production equipment, test instruments, and hand tools.
- A quality-focused mindset with high attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- A desire to learn and grow.
