The Metro Congregational Organizing Fellow is a 6-month temporary, full-time position focused on building leadership and shared power across race, class, and faith. You will work alongside ISAIAH staff to develop and implement organizing programs that advocate for racial, economic, and climate justice. This role requires flexibility, as meetings and events often occur during evenings and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Engage staff and leaders to build relationships based on trust and mutual understanding.
- Implement an organizing program that actively engages leaders from 15-20 churches.
- Lead public actions and meetings with elected officials to advocate for policies rooted in dignity and affordability.
- Recruit and train volunteer leaders to conduct in-person and virtual meetings with community members.
- Expand the network of churches and teams through canvassing, house meetings, congregational forums, and leadership development tactics.
What you'll need#
- Strong work ethic, perseverance, and the ability to act with integrity.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse communities.
- Capacity to navigate different cultural settings and relate to people across various backgrounds.
- Proficiency with technology, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
- Ability to articulate how grassroots organizing connects to your personal motivations.
Location & details#
- Location: St Paul, Minnesota.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $55,000 annual salary.
- Status: Full-time, 6-month temporary position.
