About the role#
We are looking for a Construction Services Intern to join our team in Columbus, Ohio for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship focused on construction materials testing, site assessment, and geotechnical support. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly on projects under the guidance of our professional team.
What you'll do#
- Perform laboratory testing and site assessments using drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
- Operate testing equipment to analyze soil, concrete, and other construction materials.
- Document test results, maintain data in company systems, and prepare reports.
- Assist with classifying soil samples and preparing work orders.
- Observe site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
- Communicate project status to clients and internal teams.
- Provide administrative support to the department as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university, specifically in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record.
- Ability to read and follow project work plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods, kneel, squat, and climb.
- Ability to frequently lift, move, push, or pull 30 to 50 pounds, or over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Availability to work off shifts and overtime as required.
