About the role#
The Intensive Case Management (ICM) program supports refugees during their first five years of resettlement. This intern role assists caseworkers in addressing the needs of vulnerable clients, including the elderly, single-headed households, and those with significant health conditions. You will help clients navigate systems and work toward self-sufficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with client check-ins via phone, in person, or video.
- Help conduct client intakes and assessments.
- Develop individualized plans based on specific client needs.
- Educate clients on U.S. healthcare and benefits systems.
- Provide transportation to appointments and accompany clients as needed.
- Communicate with community partners to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate case file documentation in the database.
- Record hours and submit monthly timesheets.
What you'll need#
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Interest in working with the refugee community.
- Ownership of a car, a valid driver's license, and car insurance.
- Willingness to transport clients in your personal vehicle.
- Access to a computer and willingness to comply with IRC policies.
- Background in Public Health, Human Resources, Psychology, or Sociology is preferred.
