About the role#
Indian Tree Animal Hospital offers an externship program for veterinary students to gain practical experience in a small animal practice. This program is designed to help you build your clinical skills and prepare for your career after graduation. You will work alongside our veterinary team under the supervision of a mentor doctor to meet your specific learning goals or those defined by your college program.
What you'll do#
- Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans for small animal cases.
- Participate in all aspects of patient care, including wellness care and surgical assistance.
- Assist in the management of medical cases.
- Produce accurate medical records and SOAPs within the time limits of daily practice.
- Practice communication and technical skills developed during your clinical preparation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited DVM program.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Current professional liability insurance.
- Ability to maintain professional and ethical standards in a clinic setting.

- Location: Arvada, Colorado.
