About the role#
As an Associate Software Engineer intern at impact.com, you will contribute to an agile engineering squad by developing, testing, and maintaining the software that powers our platform. You will gain practical experience with Java, Spring, and cloud-based infrastructure while collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to meet quarterly objectives.
What you'll do#
- Write clean, maintainable code for the platform through independent work and pair programming.
- Create unit, functional, and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Participate in an Agile/Scrum environment to help achieve team goals.
- Perform triage, verify bug reports, and implement necessary fixes.
- Develop technical expertise in the specific technologies used by your squad.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- At least 1 year of professional experience using Java and MySQL.
- Knowledge of the Spring Framework and experience with REST APIs.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
- Experience building on cloud platforms including GCP, Azure, or AWS.

- This position is based on-site in Santa Barbara, California.
- The role is full-time.
- This is a paid internship with a rolling term.
