About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. Over the course of 10 to 12 weeks, you will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis and the implementation of energy efficiency measures. You will gain hands-on experience in a hybrid environment, contributing to projects that help clients improve building performance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with sustainable design practices and building performance analyses across the company.
- Support green building certification efforts, including energy modeling, documentation, and certification coordination.
- Coordinate design information from architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier sources.
- Assist in identifying building and campus decarbonization strategies, including solar photovoltaic assessments and calculations.
- Research code requirements for energy-efficient design, such as LEED, IECC, and ASHRAE 90.1.
- Make sustainable design recommendations and support design decisions under the guidance of senior staff.
- Prepare and issue project reports.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Architecture, or an equivalent field.
- Working knowledge of building interior and exterior systems.
- Familiarity with green building certifications like LEED, WELL, or Living Building.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- A strong interest in sustainability and innovation.
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry is preferred.
