US Valve Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support tooling design, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives within our valve assembly operations. This project-based internship provides hands-on experience on the shop floor, focusing on practical problem-solving and the application of engineering fundamentals to manufacturing challenges. You will manage defined workstreams, document your findings, and present your results to the Engineering team and senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Support tooling and process improvement efforts across valve assembly operations.
- Design and improve a seal-tapping tool to increase durability and usability.
- Audit tooling and fixtures for condition, wear, and usage frequency.
- Conduct time studies to establish baseline cycle times and identify inefficiencies.
- Create and edit CAD models, fixtures, or simple tooling concepts.
- Assist with prototype builds, testing, and validation of tooling improvements.
- Present work, recommendations, and time study results to the Engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Current college student with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
- Enrollment in a relevant field, including Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Physics.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- SolidWorks experience is preferred.
