About the role#
As a Software Developer in Test Intern at IDeaS, you will gain hands-on experience by working on real-world software products. You will join a team of engineers, architects, and quality assurance professionals to contribute to the design, development, and testing of cloud-based applications. This role provides exposure to the full software development lifecycle, Agile practices, and emerging AI technologies.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and enhance software applications while maintaining scalable, well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to deliver quality software.
- Create and execute unit, integration, and automated tests to identify and resolve software defects.
- Validate application functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Contribute to the development of REST APIs and microservices within cloud-based projects.
- Explore AI-powered tools and assist in testing AI-enabled features while following company guidelines for ethical AI usage and data privacy.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Research new tools and frameworks, and present project findings to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Go.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and software development concepts like Git, debugging, and APIs.
- Exposure to relational databases and SQL.
- Foundational understanding of cloud computing, AI, and machine learning concepts.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT and an understanding of responsible AI principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- Modality: This is a hybrid role. Interns must be onsite at least 3 days per week.
- Status: This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
