The Minerals to Materials Supply Chain Research Facility (METALLIC) is a Department of Energy initiative focused on accelerating the development of secure, domestic critical minerals and materials supply chains. Interns will support multidisciplinary research and program activities aimed at providing technology validation, testing, and commercialization support for innovators across the United States.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside scientists, engineers, and program managers to support research and program activities.
- Advance technology validation, testing, and analysis efforts.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate, Masters, or PhD student at an accredited college or university.
- Academic focus in Geology, Earth Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho.
- Modality: On-site at INL facilities.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid internship with rates varying by education level ($26.16–$38.41/hour).
- Benefits: Paid holiday time off and potential travel reimbursement for eligible interns.
