The Minerals to Materials Supply Chain Research Facility (METALLIC) is a Department of Energy initiative focused on accelerating the development of secure, domestic critical minerals and materials supply chains. Interns will contribute to technology validation, testing, and commercialization support for innovators across the United States. This is a paid, full-time internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Support multidisciplinary research and program activities.
- Work alongside scientists, engineers, and program managers to advance technology validation, testing, and analysis.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate, Masters, or PhD student at an accredited college or university.
- Academic background in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Earth Science, Materials Science, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- A minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Location & details#
- Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho.
- Modality: On-site at INL facilities.
- Term: Rolling start dates and durations based on project needs.
- Compensation: Pay is determined by education level, ranging from $26.16 to $38.41 per hour depending on degree status.
- Benefits: Eligible interns receive paid holiday time off and may qualify for travel reimbursements.
