About the role#
Hubbell Realty Company is hiring a Commercial Construction Intern to support project teams in West Des Moines. You will work on-site, assisting both superintendents and project managers with the daily operations of construction projects. This is a paid, full-time role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Help the superintendent plan, schedule, and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project safety compliance and quality control standards.
- Facilitate site meetings, track action items, and manage project documentation like RFIs and change orders.
- Assist with layout verification, material tracking, and reviewing shop drawings.
- Perform estimating, quantity take-offs, and administrative tasks to support project close-out.
- Maintain a positive site environment and perform general carpentry or clean-up tasks as needed.
- Travel to various job sites to provide reporting and project updates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for construction management or construction engineering.
- A working knowledge of commercial construction activities.
- The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with diverse groups of people.
- A valid driver license and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, walk, kneel, and work in extreme weather conditions.
