Co-op Researcher - Machine Learning and Computer Vision

About the role#

Huawei Canada is seeking a Co-op Researcher for an 8-16 month term. This role focuses on advancing machine learning and computer vision technologies within a professional research environment.

What you'll do#

• Research and develop state-of-the-art technology in computer vision and machine learning.
• Work on video and image understanding and synthesis tasks using deep learning techniques.
• Optimize algorithms and machine learning models while considering mobile computing constraints.

What you'll need#

• Experience applying machine learning or computer vision to real-world problems.
• Ability to grasp foundational computer vision concepts and techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one deep learning framework, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Preferred assets include experience with OpenCV, mobile app development, photo editing software, or image/video generation AI models like Stable Diffusion or Flux.
• Academic research experience, such as participation in paper publishing, is considered an asset.
