About the role#
Huawei Canada is seeking an Assistant Researcher for an 8, 12, or 16-month co-op position. This role focuses on advancing research in computer vision and machine learning, with the goal of integrating these innovations into products and services.
What you'll do#
- Research and develop state-of-the-art technology in computer vision and machine learning.
- Analyze various types of video and image data using cutting-edge deep learning and computer vision techniques.
- Optimize algorithms and machine learning models while considering mobile computing constraints.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong software development skills, including previous internship experience with C++ and Python.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Proficiency in machine learning techniques such as regression, SVM, PCA, and neural networks.
- Experience applying machine learning or computer vision to real-world problems.
- Experience with Python libraries like numpy, matplotlib, and scikit-learn, and at least one deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Assets include experience with image processing libraries like OpenCV and ffmpeg, AIGC tools like Stable Diffusion, or deploying neural networks on edge devices.
