Co-op Researcher-Computer Vision and Machine Learning

About the role#

Huawei Canada is seeking an Assistant Researcher for an 8, 12, or 16-month co-op position within the Noah’s Ark lab. This role focuses on advancing artificial intelligence through research and development, aiming to integrate technical innovations into products and services.

What you'll do#

• Research and develop state-of-the-art technology in computer vision and machine learning.
• Conduct video and image analysis using advanced deep learning and computer vision techniques.
• Optimize algorithms and machine learning models while accounting for mobile computing constraints.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong software development skills with previous internship experience in C++ and Python.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in machine learning techniques such as regression, SVM, PCA, and neural networks.
• Experience applying machine learning or computer vision to real-world problems.
• Proficiency in Python libraries (numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn) and at least one deep learning framework (TensorFlow or PyTorch).
• Assets include experience with image processing libraries (OpenCV, ffmpeg), AIGC tools (Stable Diffusion, Flux, ControlNet), edge device deployment, Android development, and JNI.
