About the role#
As a Construction Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience at active construction sites. You will work alongside experienced engineers to see how transportation projects come to life. This role involves learning how engineering plans translate into real-world infrastructure. You will be part of the team and learn by doing as you observe how engineers, contractors, and clients solve problems together.
What you'll do#
- Visit active construction sites to observe progress.
- Work with experienced engineers to understand project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Collect field data, take measurements, and perform material checks.
- Document project progress and participate in field meetings.
- Follow a structured intern learning curriculum.
- Connect with a mentor and participate in intern roundtables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Availability to work full time during the Summer 2027 program.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Curiosity, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
