The Automation Engineer Intern will join the Plant 3 team at the Whitehall Casting Operation. This program provides 10-14 weeks of structured, hands-on training designed to offer professional experience and evaluate interns for potential entry-level openings. You will work on projects that provide direct value to the business and present your findings to plant leadership and mentors at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Assist automation teams in identifying new manufacturing technology and sustaining existing technology.
- Participate in plant tours and educational lunch and learn seminars.
- Engage in networking events with fellow interns.
- Complete and present business-value projects to managers, supervisors, and mentors.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
- Minimum completion of sophomore-level coursework by May 2026.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Preferred skills include experience with robotics or robot programming, strong communication, and the ability to work in both team and self-directed environments.
