About the role#
Hoar is seeking a BIM/VDC intern for the Fall 2027 term. You will work on-site in Nashville, Tennessee, assisting our VDC team with project setup, modeling, and field operations. This is a paid, full-time internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Create supplemental models for MEP coordination.
- Produce and adjust models for constructability reviews, quantity take-offs, project scheduling, and cost estimates.
- Build virtual mock-ups and complete other modeling tasks.
- Assist the VDC team with 3D trade coordination, site logistics, and 4D sequencing.
- Participate in VDC coordination meetings.
- Help manage clash data from trade partner models.
- Support laser scan services and the setup of field equipment like total stations, laser scanners, and UAVs.
- Manage one to two VDC deliverables at a time with guidance from staff.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Building Design Sciences or a related field.
- Completion of at least your freshman year of college.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- A valid driver's license.
- Experience with Revit and Navisworks is preferred.

- This role requires working in both office and outdoor settings with exposure to various weather conditions. You must be able to sit or stand for long periods, lift moderate weight, and travel between sites.
