    About the role#

    As a fellow with the Hill Community Development Corporation, you work on community development initiatives that bridge business, public, and community interests. You will contribute to the redevelopment of the Hill District by engaging with residents, organizational leadership, policy makers, and developers. This two-year program offers hands-on experience in real estate projects, public policy, community planning, and economic development. You will gain professional training while participating in local and national conversations on equitable development and cultural preservation.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage and administer projects across departments including administration, programs, real estate, and policy.
    • Research and develop expertise to support community initiatives and organizational goals.
    • Facilitate processes and engage stakeholders to advance project objectives.
    • Advocate for community interests through legislative testimony and direct influence on decision-makers.
    • Coordinate administrative tasks for departmental team members.
    • Support campaigns through canvassing, one-on-one meetings, and phone banking.

    What you'll need#

    • A BS or BA in a related or transferrable field, though relevant work and life experience may be considered. Master-level graduates are encouraged to apply.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • A reliable work ethic, integrity, and sound judgment.
    • The ability to perform effectively under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
    • Cultural competency for the target community and a commitment to results.
    • Business and financial acumen with statistical and quantitative analysis skills are considered a plus.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, on-site position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
    • The fellowship is a two-year program with a 40-hour work week.
    • Compensation includes a $2,000 monthly stipend, health insurance stipend, and paid time off.
