About the role#
The Heyl Royster Summer Associate Program is our primary recruiting tool for new attorneys. We aim to provide a positive experience that leads to future full-time employment offers. You will gain legal experience and develop skills across multiple practice areas rather than being assigned to one specific group. You will work with attorneys in your home office and across the firm to get a broad view of our practice.
What you'll do#
- Work on active legal files.
- Duplicate the real practice of law under the supervision and mentorship of licensed attorneys.
- Participate in social and networking events both within your office and firmwide.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a first-year or second-year law student.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Location & details#
- Location: Peoria, Illinois.
- Term: June 2, 2027, to July 30, 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $1,500 per week for second-year students and $1,300 per week for first-year students.
- Benefits: Paid vacation and holidays, plus employee assistance benefits.
- Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not available.
