About the role#
The HR & Recruiting Intern supports the People Operations and Recruiting teams at Heven AeroTech. You will gain hands-on exposure to the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, and general HR administration. This role is based at our facility in Sterling, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Assist with recruiting tasks such as candidate sourcing, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communications.
- Support the maintenance of applicant tracking systems and recruiting documentation.
- Help with new hire onboarding by preparing materials and coordinating pre-employment requirements.
- Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, and training programs.
- Conduct research for HR projects, process improvements, and reporting.
- Prepare spreadsheets, presentations, and other materials for the team.
- Participate in recruiting and cross-functional team meetings.
- Handle employee and candidate information with strict confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A customer-service mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must qualify as a U.S. person under 22 CFR §120.62 (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual).
- Prior experience in HR, recruiting, or administration is preferred.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems or HRIS platforms is a plus.

- Compensation: $19 to $20 per hour.
