About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in San Francisco. You will work on-site with our construction teams to learn project engineering processes and support daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Help the Preconstruction team set up bid documents.
- Build relationships with office staff, field crews, and subcontractors.
- Attend weekly subcontractor meetings and manage meeting notes.
- Create and maintain submittal logs and process RFIs.
- Learn to use Lean construction tools like 5S, LPS, and VIP.
- Assist with scheduling tasks, including the 6-week look ahead and Weekly Work Plan.
- Keep drawing sets, specifications, and project logs up to date.
- Visit job sites to monitor safety, view project progress, and take site photos.
- Support the project close-out process, including punch lists and as-built drawings.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- You have a foundational understanding of construction techniques from your coursework.
- You can read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- You have strong computer skills, specifically with MS Office.
- You communicate clearly in written and verbal English.
- You are a self-starter who takes initiative and works well in a team.
- You have a positive attitude and are willing to learn and adapt to new challenges.
