Engineering Intern – Technical Department

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to support the technical department at Héroux-Devtek during the Summer 2026 term. You will work on-site in Longueuil, Quebec, contributing to various engineering projects within the aviation and aerospace component manufacturing sector. This is a full-time, paid position.

What you'll do#

• Create technical specifications for projects, including required equipment, technology, and program modifications.
• Plan necessary testing and define project phases with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare business cases and bids for engineering projects.
• Provide support for ongoing automation projects.
• Design computer and electrical control systems for defragmenting furnaces.
• Modify department IT infrastructure and assist in the relocation of the Zn-Ni plating line.
• Set up mechanical rooms for cooling process tanks and rectifiers.
• Define requirements for a digital preventive maintenance application based on tool usage frequency.
• Monitor project progress with internal departments and external industrial automation partners.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program for Chemical, Mechanical, Automated Production, Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Strong teamwork, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation.
• Demonstrated autonomy, initiative, and resourcefulness.
• Proficiency in English is required for communication with international suppliers, clients, and auditors.
