About the role#
The Managed Services Engineering Associate position is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will join the Heartland Business Systems managed services team to provide IT support for various customers. This role offers exposure to the day-to-day operations of the IT industry while you work alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Support the team in providing critical IT services for HBS customers.
- Learn about different technologies and platforms under the direction of your Team Lead.
- Perform proactive maintenance tasks, including server and workstation patches, firewall rule updates, and upgrades for switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Provide remote support for hardware and applications related to servers, storage, and network equipment.
- Monitor and analyze backups, security appliances, and customer networks.
- Collaborate with primary field engineers to complete tasks as needed.
- Participate in cross-education and mentoring with other interns and staff.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a two-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technology field, or have a combination of relevant education and experience.
- You maintain an outcome-focused mindset.
