About the role#
The People & Culture Intern provides administrative and project support to the People & Culture department. This role offers hands-on experience in human resources, employee experience, organizational operations, compliance, records management, and workplace culture. You will support the team in maintaining organized employee records, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the employee experience.
What you'll do#
- Scan paper personnel files and convert them into electronic records.
- Upload and maintain employee records within SharePoint, ensuring they follow naming conventions.
- Conduct file audits to identify missing documentation and support records retention.
- Monitor SharePoint workflows and verify that information in tracking lists is accurate.
- Assist with leave administration by entering data, tracking activity, and following up on documentation.
- Maintain tracking for workplace accommodations, including monitoring review dates and renewal deadlines.
- Monitor the People & Culture inbox, respond to routine questions, and route inquiries to the team.
- Coordinate logistics for employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and Wellness Wednesday initiatives.
- Provide general administrative support, including project tracking and preparation for audits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with SharePoint, Excel, or records management systems is preferred.
