About the role#
As a Pharmacy Grad Intern at Hayat Pharmacy, you will work directly with our dispensing pharmacists and operations managers to provide essential pharmacy services. This role focuses on the accurate processing and filling of prescriptions while maintaining high standards of customer care. You will gain hands-on experience across our community-based pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers in person or by phone and answer their questions.
- Receive, review, and process prescriptions electronically.
- Prepare labels, measure dosages, and fill prescriptions for final pharmacist verification.
- Resolve issues like rejected insurance claims.
- Perform monthly inventory counts and maintain adequate medication supplies.
- Sort, stock, and label new medications while checking for expired items.
- Operate the cash register and maintain accurate records of physician orders.
- Follow operational policies, including opening and closing procedures.
- Assist the pharmacist with patient vaccinations and counsel patients under supervision.
- Adhere to safety, infection-control, and quality standards.
What you'll need#
- At least two years of customer service experience in a pharmacy, retail, or medical setting. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A customer-focused attitude and a track record of dependability.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Current enrollment in a Pharmaceutical Sciences program.
