Hatch is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Student for a Summer 2026 internship in the Vancouver office. This role supports the Geotechnical department, focusing on infrastructure, renewable power, and mining projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers, geoscientists, and designers in a collaborative environment that values mentorship and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers, geoscientists, and designers on complex, challenging projects.
- Apply analytical, research, and planning skills to support geotechnical investigations, geological characterization, and design and analysis.
- Support construction-related tasks and gain exposure to modern design tools, including 3D modeling, geotechnical analysis, and complex calculation software.
- Act as a technical resource while gaining experience across a variety of technical areas.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your 3rd or 4th year of a Geological Engineering or Earth Sciences program at an accredited university.
- A keen attitude toward learning and an openness to working on diverse projects across various industries.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Flexibility to perform both office-based work and field-based assignments.
- Experience with RocScience, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or Leapfrog is considered an asset, though not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
